You open the tailgate, set up the folding table next to it and pull the zip open. Ten minutes later the first person is standing next to you. This model comes with the padded, adjustable Daytrip shoulder strap. On the 3- and 5-litre boxes it costs extra.\u003c\/li\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003e17.5 centimetres of height inside.\u003c\/strong\u003e That's why a 0.5-litre bottle stands upright in it, and so does a tall jar of salad. According to the manufacturer, the large YETI food storage container fits this model best of all. In the shallow 5-litre box with its 11-odd centimetres, both have to lie down.\u003c\/li\u003e\n  \u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003e0.82 kilos empty, and it doesn't collapse.\u003c\/strong\u003e Someone puts their rucksack down on it and the box keeps its shape, and so does what's inside. You wipe the outside down instead of washing it. It's flat and disappears into the footwell, while the 9-litre box, at around 21 centimetres tall, stays a tall block. Empty, it takes up the same space in the boot as full, all year round. If you only bring stuff along twice a summer and need the room the rest of the time, a soft bag suits you better. The box travels upright, not on its side, and it's never submerged. The outside is water-repellent, not waterproof, and in real heat with high humidity the outer shell can get damp.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eYETI doesn't give a cold-retention time in hours for this model anywhere. So we don't either. What is documented: according to Germany's consumer advice centres, a car parked in the sun reaches 30 to 40 degrees, and that's exactly what the box is working against. People who look after their car instead of wearing it out rarely buy the loudest or the cheapest. They buy what will still be around in five years and still look like someone cared.
